I’m sick and tired of being carpet-bombed by fear, despair and stupidity by the media.
Checking news sites is part of my daily routine, so to counter that, I did something as simple as inducing a bit of self-censorship, and added the following lines to my “hosts” file:
For the unfamiliar with this file, it simply is a local lookup table where domain names are translated into ip addresses, and the 127.0.0.1 is the local computer, so instead of pointing say: cnn.com to their own webserver I just redirect the request to my local webserver.
